Hi. My name is Jim Meaders. I'm 64 years old, have been teaching art to college students for over 30 years, and after thinking about it for 25 years or so, I wrote my first novel - actually completed in December of 2007. "The Summer of My Fourteenth Year" is a story in which the main character is based on me. The part about me mowing yards to earn money to buy my first car and some other aspects of the story are also based on fact. Some of the characters and events in the story are roughly based on real people and events from that time in my life. I am a Professor of Art at a university in Nashville, Tennessee. I have been a practicing artist for over 40 years, primarily creating paintings, drawings, and mixed-media pieces. My last three books in the series about James are: "Hitchhikers in Each Other's Mind," "Signals From Passionate Minds," and my latest, "Minds Against Wicked Things."
